life is a Cabernet!
yesterday we took the day off and drove
to Lacey...
the kids gave their dad a gift certificate to
Classic Winemakers for his birthday and
father's day last year.
after a bit of wine tasting,
he decided to make his current favorite...
Cabernet Sauvignon.
Kim is adding grape juice from Red Mountain.
Andy, our wine making host, is adding pure water!
Red Mountain is a region where some
amazing vineyards grow in eastern
Washington State!
we were able to taste the grape skins
and pulp! ooohhhh so sweet!
my sweet and happy wine maker was really having
a blast...loving every minute of the experience.
***
final touches... Hungarian Oak pellets
and fine French Oak!
add a little Hungary...
and sprinkle in some France!
***
after some careful stirring techniques...
it's ready to go to it's special room
for it's transformation!
in May we will return for bottling...
that experience will be a whole new post!
