What a pretty space and you are right...you don't need a lot of space to make a perfect bed nook. I have a feeling our new home has very small rooms (I haven't actually seen the house yet) so I'm pretty sure our space will be cozy. That little side table is perfect for the look especially if you are short on space. Love the reading lamp mounted onto the headboard too.
