good morning, weekend!
we haven't looked at our lotto tickets yet.
Mr D says, "i'm not looking until Sunday night!"
hmmmm... i'll roll with his theory.

with all of this crazy lotto fever going on the media has been
interviewing various lotto winners from the past.
one of the winners interviewed was a sweet middle aged gal that said,
"when i bought my ticket, i just visualized what i would be
wearing when i received my winnings!"

i have decided to visualize winning...

i have cleared a place in my dining room.  it's dusted and
ready to be updated for Spring 2012! i'll be wearing my fave
old blue jeans and natural cotton over sized sweater
when i am decorating with this wonderful assortment of eye
candy! do i sound too confident? the odd's of being a winner
 are so much better here.

Gina thanks for a chance to win your
pretty Spring 2012 give a way! i have my clothes laid out
for the announcement on April 9th!

Bonne Chance to all!

when there aren't any Saturday evening parties or plans,
Mr D and i usually hit the Red Box at the grocery store or
pick a flick from our small collection of faves.

it's a "Saturday Night at the Movies" on 34th street.

(just for the record this movie is not a favorite of Mr D.)

if you are around my age, you will remember the
"reel"  Saturday night series on NBC in the early 60's.
back in the 60's we stayed up LATE, popped popcorn  in a pan on
the stove, or begged our parents to buy  "Jiffy pop".

now that we are (empty nest ) adults,
we usually have a glass of wine and an appetizer.

our favorite is artichokes with butter. i wrote about it a year ago here.

~ * ~

i recently stumbled upon a little collection of Red Wing Pottery called Montmartre.

to be honest...i was not smitten with the larger pieces

the pieces that grabbed my attention were the teacups and
saucers, the bread plates and small bowls.

that's my 2011 under Christmas tree wine...the first French vintage that Mr D and i sipped together.
he was over 30 years ago. i pulled it from the top shelf of our cooler for the photo!

in keeping with a practical use for this purchase, i chose only to select  four bread
plates and one of the small bowls for an occasional evening of bread dipping.

the plates hold a sweet and simple image of a Paris sidewalk cafe'.

the little bowl shows a window.

a perfect find for our farm table for four, or for two on a
Saturday Night at the Movies!

have a wonderful weekend!

{ the way, our practice manager, aka my boss,
gave me a lotto ticket with my pay stub yesterday.
has "mega millions" lotto fever hit your neck of the woods?

i am hoping it's GOLDEN and we get to visit the CHOCOLATE factory!}

this morning, i (w)ramble and wrap.

i am always looking for way's to make plain brown paper...pretty!
~ via~

i clicked myself into another new Google feature...
...another week of learn as you go.
you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
one defies that old saying around here!

what a perfectly pretty idea for plain brown paper!
~tutorial for ruffly belt here~
(by the way, embellished grosgrain belts are very "HOT" right now!)

i'm once again, in a foreign place.
i am always nervous when exploring a new Google culture.

today, i just gave my plain brown paper a simple touch of gold.
~ for Donna ~

do i dare click myself into another new feature? sure!
how many of you are publishing in the new Google format?
what do you think about it?

it's time to stop (w)rambling and announce the winner of my
little French bread give a way...

i know that you (ms.winner) have recently given up eating bread and sugar.
a little gift of "guilt free" French bread and sugar is headed for your doorstep,
 you my sweet friend!

~ for J_ _ _ ~

this dispels the rumor that the number one is
never generated on!

the winner is...

Jane at Blondie's Journals!

Jane, please send me your address by email!
i will add some little goodies this weekend and mail it the first part of next week!

thanks for listening to me!

i first fell for her mother's French Blue.

Janet so graciously permitted me to use her image of  a
hummingbird nesting in the chandelier outside her window
for Holland's baby shower invitation.

~ * ~

while following Janet, i was introduced to her daughter Noel.
Noel is sculptor. her medium  is precious paper.

she designed her wedding invitation, which ultimately
lead to another very special invitation that you can read about ...!

today is a day that i am celebrating the gifts of beauty from two very
gracious hearts. the very definition of why i am blessed to be
a resident of our blog world!

i wish you countless blessings of success, sweet Noel!

a weekful!

~ weekful ~

now, that's not a real word, but in my crazy
vernacular, it goes with

~ soulful ~

~ joyful ~

~ mindful ~

~ heartful ~

you get where i am going with this...
life is good to me right now!
it's busy and full!
my to do list is still very listful!  but who's isn't! i am catching up...
one check, check at a time! i hope that you don't think that i am complaining.
i'm just talking...writing... maybe even rambling...
keeping the motivation...
the MO!
while in catching up mode, i sliced off a big chunk of blog loving time.
 { i did sneak a few precious minutes for some express inspiration visiting.}

that Susie Harris!
how darn cute is she?

her post just grabbed me at the right time!  this little saying
should be written on the bathroom mirror to set each day!

~ Susie ... she's soulful! ~

then there was Joy's post!
the thing about Joy is that she's a tad bit younger than i.
she just finished a big weekend event only to come home
and create a SUMMER KITCHEN on her back porch!

i love this idea!
she kicks my bottom every time!

~ Joy (of course) ... she's joyful! ~

Thursday it was Melaine!
she made a cookbook!
she can you!
her mind is always moving!

~ Melaine ... she's mindful! ~

no offense intended, i SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST...are you
singing with Vanessa Williams. right now?
 i am!
last Summer, i met Jessica and her dear family in blogland.

the blessing is that they live close enough that we will
meet in the real world soon! Maci's image is on our fridge here
on 34th street! she has been in a big battle since last July.
she had her first day of school on Monday!
the big K! Kindergarten!
for Maci, i broke the letter~match rule...

so there it is...the "weekful"!
it does not get better than this, my friends!
this weekend, my son will be home. i haven't seen him since Christmas!
i'm spending night with Chrislyn and Holland while Jason is out of town.
it's our first SLEEPOVER!  we're going to hug & craft & sew & play!
i'll be running to and from 34th street all weekend long! it's good! i'll love it!

may God Bless all of your hearts!

happy weekend!

what time is it?

recently i let "time-life management" get the best of me".
February was a busy month...lovely gatherings...almost every weekend.
i must admit, that blogging has consumed some of the time that is designated
for my before leaving for work productivity.  i SO enjoy blogging!
i love the inspiration, the beauty, the creativity, the passion for living, the humor
and the friendship that blogging has brought to my life.

it's fun!'s a bit addictive!

 now...where i fell behind ...

time took it's toll my with written correspondence.

why did i let this happen? why?
(i always want everything to be perfect...ooops!)
i love to write and assemble lovelies to take to the post office.
i love sending hugs to those i care about.

yesterday, i made a big mug of tea, and set the farm table for a day of
writing precious notes, and preparing a few parcels for some

sweet blog friends. for those of you that are anticipating a package from 34th street,
i assure you, that i have added some special little touches to make it worth the wait!

here's just a little peek at putting it all together while i was getting my act together!
i will show you how i wrapped it on Wednesday's wrap...just before i take it to the post office.

when once again...

...time is on my side!
  "yes it is!"
sing it Jagger! ~

happy Monday!

first Spring on my desk and random Lynne...

the inspiration...

it's still a bit chilly here in the PacNWest. this morning,
before work, i made a quick little trip to backyard fuchsia bush.
(wow, i did not prune it back  far enough last Fall.)

this plant is older than me.  it began as a  tiny clipping from my grandmother's garden.
(do you see? the SUN is rising and shining!)

how easy is life... now that we have embraced canning jars for their
multi functional qualities?

i took this image on a little Picnik.
(i'm going to be lost without Picnik. )

~ * ~

i won't be posting again until Monday! i have some major
catching up and cleaning to do. next week is going to be a busy one.

i said yes one to many times...LOL.
i know that many of you do the very same thing!

~ * ~

you  all know that i have totally embraced Grandmotherhood!

i have to share this link to Chrislyn's blog post yesterday!
this image makes any day a smile maker!
that little teapot talks and teaches manners!

~ * ~

my son, Jay will be coming home next weekend!
we haven't seen him since Christmas!
we are going to hit some of Seattle's furniture and home lifestyle stores.
we will also be doing a wee bit of celebrating! i am going to try a new apple cake recipe that i found!

so there you have it, garden...decor...Mom...Grandma...and some pure yumminess!
all before breakfast and work!
happy weekend ! i'll meet ya on Monday, hopefully with my to do list checked twice!
happy weekend!

ctrl + z ...

today was supposed to be Wednesday's wrap.

i am at work now...and just thought that i would apologize.
i miss you...hope to be in touch with morning coffee in hand soon!

our "sitting" update, growing up with girls at "dear lillie", and a winner....

yesterday, Mr D and I sat with  Holland Grace while her Mommy and
Daddy went out to brunch.  it was the very first time that Mommy
and Daddy have left the house together, without little berry blue eyes
she was a perfect little angel. we had so much fun playing, hugging and
smooching her precious little face.

Holland will soon be standing...
i am hoping to win this wonderful growth chart for her library room.
Jennifer at dear lillie is generously offering to give one away!

Jennifer is the cutest Mom. she is filled with design wonder and has
the most amazing family and friends that help her take it to market.

her daughters, Lillie and Lola hug your heart.

Jennifer is also a gracious hostess. she designs a lovely printable for
each month and gives it away! if you haven't seen her March print...
check it out below!  it's beautiful!

~ find it here ~

"it's on display in my kitchen!  thank you, Jennifer!"
