good morning, weekend!

we haven't looked at our lotto tickets yet.

Mr D says, "i'm not looking until Sunday night!"

hmmmm... i'll roll with his theory.

with all of this crazy lotto fever going on the media has been 

interviewing various lotto winners from the past.

one of the winners interviewed was a sweet middle aged gal that said,
"when i bought my ticket, i just visualized what i would be

wearing when i received my winnings!"

i have decided to visualize winning...

this!

i have cleared a place in my dining room.  it's dusted and
ready to be updated for Spring 2012! i'll be wearing my fave
old blue jeans and natural cotton over sized sweater
when i am decorating with this wonderful assortment of eye
candy! do i sound too confident? the odd's of being a winner
 are so much better here.

.MID~CENTURY MONTMARTRE AND A MOVIE.

when there aren't any Saturday evening parties or plans,

Mr D and i usually hit the Red Box at the grocery store or

pick a flick from our small collection of faves.

it's a "Saturday Night at the Movies" on 34th street.

(just for the record this movie is not a favorite of Mr D.)

if you are around my age, you will remember the
"reel"  Saturday night series on NBC in the early 60's.

back in the 60's we stayed up LATE, popped popcorn  in a pan on 

the stove, or begged our parents to buy  "Jiffy pop".

now that we are (empty nest ) adults,
we usually have a glass of wine and an appetizer.

our favorite is artichokes with butter. i wrote about it a year ago here.

 i recently stumbled upon a little collection of Red Wing Pottery called Montmartre.

to be honest...i was not smitten with the larger pieces

the pieces that grabbed my attention were the teacups and
saucers, the bread plates and small bowls.

that's my 2011 under Christmas tree wine...the first French vintage that Mr D and i sipped together.
he remembered...it was over 30 years ago. i pulled it from the top shelf of our cooler for the photo!

in keeping with a practical use for this purchase, i chose only to select  four bread
plates and one of the small bowls for an occasional evening of bread dipping.

the plates hold a sweet and simple image of a Paris sidewalk cafe'.

the little bowl shows a window.

a perfect find for our farm table for four, or for two on a
Saturday Night at the Movies!

{oh...by the way, our practice manager, aka my boss,
gave me a lotto ticket with my pay stub yesterday.
has "mega millions" lotto fever hit your neck of the woods?

today Chrislyn and i met some girlfriends in downtown Seattle.

we saw Mamma Mia at the Paramount.

after the show, we walked by Nordstrom.

the blessing is that they live close enough that we will

she had her first day of school on Monday!

it does not get better than this, my friends!
this weekend, my son will be home. i haven't seen him since Christmas!
i'm spending night with Chrislyn and Holland while Jason is out of town.
it's our first SLEEPOVER!  we're going to hug & craft & sew & play!
i'll be running to and from 34th street all weekend long! it's good! i'll love it!

what time is it?

recently i let "time-life management" get the best of me".
February was a busy month...lovely gatherings...almost every weekend.
i must admit, that blogging has consumed some of the time that is designated
 for my before leaving for work productivity.  i SO enjoy blogging!
 i love the inspiration, the beauty, the creativity, the passion for living, the humor
and the friendship that blogging has brought to my life.

it's fun! 
but...it's a bit addictive!

 now...where i fell behind ...

time took it's toll my with written correspondence.

 why did i let this happen? why?
(i always want everything to be perfect...ooops!)

i love to write and assemble lovelies to take to the post office.
i love sending hugs to those i care about.

yesterday, i made a big mug of tea, and set the farm table for a day of

writing precious notes, and preparing a few parcels for some

sweet blog friends. for those of you that are anticipating a package from 34th street,
 i assure you, that i have added some special little touches to make it worth the wait!

here's just a little peek at putting it all together while i was getting my act together!
  i will show you how i wrapped it on Wednesday's wrap...just before i take it to the post office.

it's still a bit chilly here in the PacNWest. this morning,

before work, i made a quick little trip to backyard fuchsia bush. 
(wow, i did not prune it back  far enough last Fall.)

this plant is older than me.  it began as a  tiny clipping from my grandmother's garden.
(do you see? the SUN is rising and shining!)

 how easy is life... now that we have embraced canning jars for their 

multi functional qualities?

our "sitting" update, growing up with girls at "dear lillie", and a winner....

yesterday, Mr D and I sat with  Holland Grace while her Mommy and 

Daddy went out to brunch.  it was the very first time that Mommy 

and Daddy have left the house together, without little berry blue eyes. 

she was a perfect little angel. we had so much fun playing, hugging and

smooching her precious little face. 

Holland will soon be standing...

i am hoping to win this wonderful growth chart for her library room.

Jennifer at dear lillie is generously offering to give one away!
