on a different note...

~ today is a great day... because it's HAIR DAY!
i get my hair done at the coolest place by the most amazingly talented
woman. ( it's not up-ity - pricey), but very chic... i'll
tell you about it on Monday ~

the dining room accent wall is finished!

the paint needs to cure for about a month before i can
arrange the signs, platters and plates on the ledge.

in the mean time...we'll be painting the kitchen and
start on the floors!... the carpet is going!
our goal is to have the living room, dining room and kitchen
done and decked out for Thanksgiving!

the beauty about living in the Pacific Northwest is that you don't 

 necessarily need to live in a fancy neighborhood to have view property.

 i took quick snap of our majestic Mount Rainier as she greeted me on 

this perfect August morning.

the kitchen counter looks so pretty during the prep.

summertime is "mostly" about grilling outside... 
however...
we have a new little ritual around here.

 it's... 
"cut the carbs" and "stir fry fresh" twice a week!

the French Laundry...

for many years i have dreamed about a visit to

THEFRENCHLAUNDRY

~ visit here ~

this is the time of year when we get to prepare
our daily meals fresh from the garden.
if we don't have it in our back yard, we fill in the gaps with
 produce from our local farmer's market.

here on 34th street we i call it...
(mr. d just shakes his head and smiles)
SummerFreshLaundry.

i know...it's  not extremely creative, but it's all about
  a  cooking ritual that can be enjoyed
July though September in the PacNWest climate.

i love to collect a menu now and then. my prize menu is
 from the 2nd stage of the Tour Eiffel. 
 i plan to post about it when we redo our kitchen.
