i know today is about mint juleps and pretty hats, but

my mind is filled with thoughts of champagne and blue(berries)!

Chef Lou's famous Ice Cream Potato

Saturday night, Jay and i shared

a "Chef Lou's famous Ice 

Cream Potato". the dessert is

handmade by the teens that

work at the Westside Drive-in.




 the drive-in was featured on the Food Network series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.


one of the girls that worked the drive- thru recognized Jay.

she said,

 "hey !"    

 "aren't you Jay, the sport's guy?"

Jay smiled and said, "yes".  she then said, "you came and filmed my volleyball game!"

(one of the fun things about covering sports in a city the size of Boise is that high school sports receive a

nice share of news coverage.)

yesterday, before the

airport, Jay and i reminisced

at Caffè CAPRI...





last Wednesday's road trip was eight hours of mom and son time that i will always cherish.


my visit to Boise was filled with sweet and simple memory making. 


Thursday...one on one girl time with lovely Camille (Jay's girlfriend) ... and ....

...a "Notorious C.C." steak dinner at the round table in her family home!


Jay and i ran errands all day Friday.  in between the errands, we met up with a KTVB photog at 

Boise State University, where he conducted a one on one interview with Coach Harsin. 

we crossed everything off our to do list.  at bedtime, i had 9878 steps on my pedometer!


Camille's parents were gracious hosts.

we hugged, laughed and savored charming family anecdotes around their lovely dinner table,

and at the tables of some of best eats in Boise!

we hit a heavy rain storm head on as we landed at Sea-Tac.

Mr D greeted me at passenger pick up!

when we reached home, i caught the new buds and blooms in the front yard glistening in a brief sun break.

i have been visiting you via my smart phone, where i have a difficult time leaving comments.
(i didn't have internet access Friday or Saturday, which likely accounts for eight full hours of sleep  on both nights. the extra sleep was extra good for me!)

it's nice to be back in my snugly~familiar spot, sipping coffee with you on this Monday morn'!
