Saturday shoes... just city girl... dreamin'!

Mr D says..."No chickens!"

he is quite right, because there is plenty of stuff on our

to do list, here on 34th street! 

this morning,  i pulled on my virtual  FAVE Wellies

and went  strollin' in the country via  Pinterest...

i know...it's like a story book...

there is a plethora of patina and style on my dream farm...

~ and ~

...a hen that is dreaming about becoming a city chick!
oh, how i wish that i could make her dream come true!

French bread on Friday!

this morning i poured my coffee,

and unpacked a parcel of French bread. 

it's contents were wrapped with love by Tracey.

 paper and tin.

simple treasures strike a simple pleasure!

so patina perfect, the tart tin will reflect it's French charm in
our kitchen.

 i  love the vintage laundry tags, tightly bundled in the original box.
the tiny red monograms, now hold a new sentiment. they have
become "a keepsake in an instant" for me!

as i unwrapped the vintage maps,
letter bundles, and precious paper leaves, i took a step back to take
the final photograph and realized that...


 the farm table is now today's dream and
inspiration board!

i must make a parting gift for a friend at work!

my standard parting gifts are at the top of my most requested

comfort foods!  "Mama Biscotti"

and / or "Mama Bear's Biscuits and Gravy".  

[the names came about when my daughter Chrislyn's friend

 Agnes, started calling me Mama Biscotti, and from my son 

Jay, ( B & G is his FAVE) ... he calls me Mama Bear.]

the Biscotti is always wrapped in RED!

(it's a tribute to my grandmother's

red and white kitchen!)

part of the gift is also a cookie jar! i filled the bag with 

extra cookies, wrapped and ready  to be placed in her freezer
for future treats with coffee! if you would like the recipe, you

fresh start!

good Monday everyone!

i am feeling very blessed this morning!

we had a wonderful vacation. our time with Jay was great. 

while he was at work, Mr D and i just kicked back and slept in until 7.

we were able to visit a few wineries on  the journey  to and from Boise.  

my favorite was not a new winery, and while i usually focus on the red's,

this time my taste buds grabbed Barnard Griffin's 2009 reserve Roussanne. 

   i have my mind set to crack some Dungeness with butter and French bread,

the  Roussanne will be a lovely accoutrement.

the other wine that i chose was their reserve 2009 Syrah ~ Port.

a perfect dessert to sip by the fire on a warm Summer evening. 

 nice! 

while shopping for towels for Jay's bathroom, i happened upon a sweet deal

on a piece of copper cookware. it replaced two pieces of my old stuff!

(that's how i sold the "must /need" to Mr D. ~ less is more!)

he's a good  sport! : )

Mr D worked in the yard most of yesterday, while i caught up with laundry

and cleaned inside.  we made a beautiful last night of vacation dinner.

this morning, my little commuter Corolla is waiting to take

me to workout and back to the work day.

(the squirrels have already been digging in the flower beds.)
