i remember the day she lost her son,
my father's brother, my uncle.
1967...
... it was a very rough time.
she wore her gold star, and was the
Seattle chapter's president for years.
she kept a scrap book.
she was so excited when Decoration Day
was changed to Memorial Day and declared
a national holiday, (1971).
every Memorial Day, the Gold Star Mothers lay a
wreath at the Memorial Plaza in Downtown Seattle.
