i know that you have been deluged with
pink this month.
...and i of all people, a five year BC survivor,
should be the biggest cheerleader for all of this attention.
but, i am not.
if you really want to help or donate...
give directly to your local cancer research and treatment facility.
( some of the big national causes are feeding salaries, political
causes and are channeling your generosity to places everywhere
but cancer research, cancer care, or... the cure. )
i thank all of you that have supported my pink posts for the
past four years. it was my intention to protect you from the dreaded disease.
cancer is the absence of color when it touches you and your family and friends!
this shall be my last "pink" post with reference to BC.
let's cure all of it!

...had to think twice before clicking the "publish" button this morn'.

Beautifully said. So many people are willing and able to donate to great causes, but we need to take the extra time to be sure that our dollars truly end up working for the good we envision. Congratulations of being a 5 year survivor.
ReplyDeleteAmen, Lynne! Your have done a good job on your mission of awareness here. xoDiana

ReplyDeleteLynne, I pray one day there will be a cure and I pray it's soon. Thank you for giving women a heads up on getting mammograms....it can make a difference. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI need to schedule mine......thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteGood morning sweet Lynne! ONE PIC and it's always a perfect selection that you make. LOVE THOSE BOOTS and bag!
ReplyDeleteLynne,
ReplyDeleteOne pic is worth a 1000 words, and as usual, your one pic filled my head with so many thoughts. "Time to move on." "Baggage, we all carry some kind of baggage in our lives." Of course, a variation of your title, "Packed with feelings."
My mom is a survivor of over 20 years because her BC was found when it was tiny... through a routine mammogram. Her mother died 42 years ago from C that began as BC. So, I never miss my routine mammogram, and many health decisions are made based on my family history.
I am so grateful that you are a survivor. I would have missed knowing you and your uplifting blog. Your sense of when to hit the publish button is always "spot on."
Judith
Thanks for all of your wonderful posts in support of BC. I agree that we should give at the local level and know where our donations are going. xo Laura
