hellooooo Monday!
we have been blessed and very busy here on 34th street!
it all started a couple weeks ago with...
miss cutie-ma-rootie's 2nd b-day!
she loved her special "Caillou" party! Mr D caught this darling
image of her with Momma and Daddy!
Jay arrived home early in the morning on the 4th of July!
...just in time to greet the babies at breakfast!
(Chrislyn and Jason's house is located between Sea-Tac Airport
and 34th street....let's just say...i kept the biscuits and
gravy warm in the oven for awhile!)
our adorable grands dressed for America's birthday!
the weather has been...A M A Z I N G!
that means that the babies are taken to swim at "the Great Grands" condo!
some of you remember that Mom shattered both of her
wrists in a bad fall last September while we were on vacation,
and suffered a stroke on Thanksgiving Day.
she was finally given clearance to hold Ben when he wasn't sleeping.
she was so overjoyed, that she insisted that we post it on facebook!
her wrists and hands look wonderful! thank you, Dr Baronian!
lot's of home cooked meals and favorite summer brews were consumed.
in the heat, we sipped Summer Shandy, Bud Light Lime,
and Martinelli's Passion Fruit Lemonade.
on Thursday night, Mr D took me to Costco to select a camera.
i decided not go with the SLR. ( a good SLR, starts at around 900.00 to
1000.00.) we have a deck to replace and new carpeting on the horizon.
i could not justify the expenditure at this time. instead,
i went with the Nikon COOLPIX S9500.
( i loved my old COOLPIX!)
this one has more features, and in my opinion, the close up images are
much clearer. thus far, i am pleased with the performance of this fancier
version of my previous "old reliable". i didn't have much time to
delve into the owners manual before my first experience with the camera
on Friday night. we were at The Kells on Post Alley, in downtown Seattle.
the occasion was special.
it was a big night for Jay's best friend Tyler and his sweet
girl friend, Anna!
it was a big night for Jay's best friend Tyler and his sweet
girl friend, Anna!
i love how this image turned out...
Anna had just arrived...Ty, is singing to her.
(the room was lit only by twinkle lights, it was dusk ...9 p.m.)
Ty popped the question...
...Anna said YES!
Ty had turned the mike over Jay...who lead the crowd in song!
as you can see, it didn't take long for the news to hit the social media!
(note to self, white jeans appear to be very hot here in the
Pacific Northwest!)
Jay and Ty have been buddies since T-ball!
Ty, and his mom and dad are three of our dearest family friends.
while Jay was toasting the sweet couple,
i turned my glass and lens to Ty's mom Alice for a second
and then back to Tyler and Anna. (you have heard me make
reference to my friend Alice, here on the blog!)
during the evening, i spied this French wine crate back in
the corner of the room on a window ledge.
i mentioned how "cool" it was to Alice. she arranged for me to
take it home.
Jay and i visited my Mom and Dad on Saturday morning. Dad gave me a little
French flag that he found at a garage sale.
how perfect was my simple little vignette
on the farm table for Bastille Day, yesterday!
i am going to take a short blog break so i can catch up with you and
take care of some little projects around the house and the yard.
i am also setting a goal to to get more sleep and to walk in the mornings.
although, i love this image of Jay and i, it is quite evident that i need
to focus on my health more, it's time to shed some pounds!
i'm ready to water up and head out the door for a few trips around the
block with The Chocolate Gousse!
before i go, just one more bit of info to share...From A Cardiac Specialist!
Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body
2 glasses of water after waking up - helps activate internal organs
1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal - helps digestion
1 glass of water before taking a bath - helps lower blood pressure
1 glass of water before going to bed - avoids stroke or heart attack
water at bed time will also help prevent night time leg cramps.
have a great week!
